Traditional
Indicators
The
Rogerson Kratos' Temperature Instrument Product Line consists
of numerous temperature monitoring devices for the aircraft
systems. The temperature indicators interface with various thermocouples,
resistance detectors (RTD), and thermistor temperature sensors
installed in the aircraft systems. Some of the temperatures
monitored in the Engine Instrument Product Line are as follows:
- Inter
Turbine Temperature (ITT)
- Inlet
Air Temperature (IAT)
- Exhaust
Gas Temperature (EGT)
- Turbine
Outlet Temperature (TOT)
- Engine
Inlet Temperature (EIT)
- Oil
Temperature (Engine, Transmission, Hydraulic)
The monitored temperature in the Fuel Instrument Product Line
is Fuel Oil Temperature. This function is often displayed on
a dual indicator with Fuel Oil Pressure.
Some
of the other temperatures on the aircraft, such as Cabin/cockpit
Temperature, Battery Temperature, Duct Temperature, and Outside
Air Temperature (OAT) are grouped within this Temperature Instrument
Product Line.
Temperature
Interfaces
The
indicators within this product line interface with aircraft
thermocouples, resistance detectors, and thermistor temperature
sensors to provide the necessary input to the indicator.
Indicator
Movements
The
indicators utilize various types of movements depending on the
type of input received from the sensors. The most common types
are Rogerson Kratos' Taut Band driven pointer, servo motor driven
pointers, full LCD displays, and digital LCD numeric display.
Indicators with a combination of pointer and digital LCD numeric
display are also available.
