EFIS 520 awarded STC on Pilatus PC-7

PASADENA , CA (December 16, 2003) – Rogerson Kratos was awarded STC approval for EFIS 520 on board the Pilatus PC-7 Aircraft. The Rogerson Kratos EFIS 520 5ATI AMLCD display is STC approved for IFR flight on the Part 23 Pilatus PC-7 aircraft in either a single cockpit or dual cockpit arrangement. EFIS 520 is certified under Do-178B Level A and DO-160C standards to meet the requirements for Part 23, 25, 27, and 29 single or dual pilot IFR.

EFIS 520 is an upgraded variant of the NEOAV EFIS 500 series EFIS product first TSO certified in March 2002. EFIS 520 was designed for the business jet and rotorcraft retrofit market. The EFIS 520 contains multiple system options that can be tailored for an aircraft's unique needs. In addition to TCAS II and EGPWS/TAWS, the unit can interface with a full spectrum of FMS systems - which makes it adaptable to most aircraft flying today. In addition, the EFIS 520 provides on-screen configuration pages that allow the installer to configure the EFIS to meet specific aircraft analog and digital sensor and radio suites.

EFIS 520 Fixed Wing enhancements include configuration options to display and interface to TCAS I and TCAS II, Vertical Speed Indicator (single or dual airdata), Resolution Advisory capability, Extended range weather radar display, Fast/Slow, Rate of turn, Windshear Caution and Warning Annunciations, EGWPS Terrain display, analog or digital Nav sensors (VOR, TCN, ADF, DF, Dual or single), analog or digital attitude and heading (Single or dual), analog or digital radio altimeters (single or dual) , extensive autopilot annunciations (digital or discrete), analog or digital autopilot/Flight Director interface, eleven different popular FMS (Universal, Global, Garmin, Trimble, King, CMC, Racal), and many other standard features such as full reversionary capabilities and cross-side monitoring of critical and essential information.

EFIS 520 Rotorcraft enhancements include all the above plus expanded radio altimeter tapes below 300 ft, short-range (1/4 mile) radar display, and collective cue flight direction.

Rogerson Kratos will be adding a few more variants to the EFIS 520 and EFIS 520 NVG options to include EFIS 520 SAR (Search and Rescue) and EFIS 520 PFD (Primary Flight Display).

EFIS 520 SAR expands the ADI pitch cues for better hover support, adds Doppler radar (analog or digital) hover modes, expands the FMS mark on target capability for Hover mode, and adds RDR-1400C Beacon modes.

EFIS 520 PFD adds airspeed and altitude tapes to provide a full glass cockpit primary flight displays solution. Airspeed IAS and altitude bug settings allow for autopilot vertical mode control.
